Tropic Topics newsletter
The aim of Tropic Topics is to provide Cairns Defence families with local information on activities, events and issues.
Tropic Topics is Defence community targeted newsletter that provides information on a broad range of topics, including (but not limited to):
- Social Work articles addressing Special Needs, relationships, absence from home support, mobility issues and local support services.
- Education and schooling information produced by our Regional Education and Liaison Officer (REDLO).
- Military issues associated with family matters, such as PMKEYS, Defence Spouse Cards etc, produced by the Defence Community Organisation Military Support Officer (MSO).
- A Presidential/Chairperson Report which highlights key activities and events at the DCRC.
- An overview of DCRC specific services and events, such as Tinker Tailor, Playgroup and fundraising initiatives.
- Cyclone preparation and safety plans, tropical health and school holidays activities.
- Community advertisements and events.
Timings:
Available in the first week of the month via online subscription or hardcopy by contacting the DCRC.
Cost:
Free – Subscribe online or contact the DCRC to receive a hardcopy.
